   • The average American home uses about 10,000 kWh/year, in Canada the average is 11,135 kWh, the Nordic countries use between 10,000-15,000 kWh/year and in the Southern European countries it may vary from 3,000-5,000 kWh. 
   • This means, one data center consumes the equivalent of about 250,000 American, Canadian and N. European homes per year, or 500,000 homes in country like Italy!

2. Cooling Needs:

   • AI processors generate immense heat, making advanced cooling systems essential. These systems alone account for up to 40% of a data center’s energy consumption.

3. Growth Projections:

   • The demand for electricity in AI data centers is expected to grow by 30–50% annually as AI technologies become more integrated into everyday life.

The enormous electricity consumption of AI data centers raises questions about their potential impact on electromagnetic fields (EMFs). These fields are generated wherever electricity flows, including data centers and their supporting infrastructure. Here’s what you should know:

1. Increased EMF Exposure:

   • High-density power equipment and extensive cooling systems in AI data centers create stronger and more widespread EMFs, as highlighted in research on electromagnetic radiation from industrial facilities.
